This underlying index is specifically constructed to accurately reflect the performance of the energy companies within the S&P 500. The ETF grants investors precise access to businesses engaged in core energy industries, including oil, natural gas, other consumable fuels, and the associated equipment and services sectors. $SPY ~ Energy prices in Sept 2026 in the USA at 1974/1990/2000/2008/2022 levels which all lead to recessions & bear markets. But maybe just maybe the 3 trillion “Off Balance Sheet” AI Infrastructure Capex debt boom will make “This Time Is Different” actually come true for the 1st time in recent economic history. Good luck everyone. $USO $XLE $BWET $GLD
View on StockTwits ↗$XLE closed +2.2% at 65.92, a third of a percent from a 52-wk high. It's +48% YTD. $SPY is +11.5%. Energy is beating the index by ~37 points this year and the timeline is still arguing about chips. The 52-wk low is 41.72 — this thing has gone from left-for-dead to the best-performing corner of the market, mostly in silence.
View on StockTwits ↗$SPY $QQQ $USO.X $XLE In March, a few weeks after the war began, we wrote this: “90% of Iranian oil goes to China as well, which is pretty much the only thing that is keeping the whole of the Iranian economy alive. Both Iran and China need the Strait more than the United States does.” This point is now even more important as the United States has imposed their own blockade on the strait, choking off Iranian exports and now sending Chinese crude futures to record highs. This adds more interest to ending the war, as the pain begins to be felt in Beijing. Something to watch going forward, this deliberate US strategy of blockading Iran may just work, but the interim pain across the world is becoming evident.
View on StockTwits ↗$USO ~ Crude oil now very close to a massive breakout versus silver in Sept 2026. Do you even care? Because I do!. This setup is telling me crude oil is getting ready to put a spanking on silver in terms of price outperformance going into 2027!. Good luck everyone. $XLE $SLV $GLD $SPY

View on StockTwits ↗$XLE Crude Oil continues to exhibit constructive weekly price and momentum behavior. Following the successful reclaim of the $7,500 area and subsequent retests in August, the market has advanced through the prior $9,400 - $10,000 resistance zone while maintaining bullish momentum readings above 50. Both absolute and trend RSI continue to support the advance, suggesting improving participation beneath price. While the technical backdrop remains constructive, the next notable resistance cluster appears to reside between approximately $10,400 and $11,000 ish, where prior closes and rejection wicks indicate potential overhead supply.

View on StockTwits ↗Energy Secretary Chris Wright told CNBC on Tuesday that he expects the pipeline to restart operations in days. “This will be a brief and temporary interruption,” Wright said. The Saudis have been redirecting crude oil exports through the pipeline to the Red Sea as the U.S. and Iran battle for control of the Strait of Hormuz. The pipeline can carry 7 million barrels per day. “The attacks on oil infrastructure mark a meaningful escalation of the conflict and increase the probability of our price upside scenario, where Brent exceeds $120,” said Yulia Zhestkova Grigsby, senior commodity strategist at Goldman Sachs, in a Monday note. $XLE
View on StockTwits ↗Crude oil prices rose Tuesday as Saudi Arabia reportedly cancelled some shipments after drone attacks forced the closure of its key export pipeline. U.S. West Texas Intermediate traded 5% higher to $106.55 per barrel by 1:35 p.m. ET. Brent crude futures, the international benchmark, were up 3.4% to $109.23 per barrel. Prices have surged around 20% this month as fighting has sharply escalated in the Persian Gulf. Trade sources told Reuters that the Saudis informed European customers that some September crude oil deliveries are cancelled. The Saudis have described the pipeline closure as a “precautionary measure” but haven’t provided a damage assessment or an estimate of how long the outage will last. Riyadh shut down the oil artery after damage last week sustained in a drone attack launched from Iraq. $XLE
