Rogers Communications is one of Canada's "Big 3" telecom service providers, offering wireless and broadband services nationally, but with strongholds in Ontario, British Columbia, and Alberta. The firm serves 11 million postpaid and 1 million prepaid wireless customers and 5 million broadband customers with nearly 11 million homes passed. Rogers also operates a media segment, primarily known for ownership of three major Toronto sports teams: baseball's Blue Jays, hockey's Maple Leafs, and basketball's Raptors. Additionally, the firm operates multiple broadcast networks, radio stations, and public venues in the Rogers Centre.

Rogers Communications shares climbed after the company announced a 12-year sublicensing agreement with Amazon’s Prime Video for NHL broadcasts in Canada. Starting in the 2026-27 season, Prime Video will exclusively stream Wednesday night national NHL games in English and French, as well as select Stanley Cup Playoff series. The deal covers at least 26 national regular-season games annually and expands Prime Video’s live sports offerings in Canada. Rogers’ Sportsnet will retain exclusive English-language rights to more than 500 national NHL games per season, including most playoff coverage. The agreement allows Rogers to further monetize its long-term NHL media rights deal while broadening audience reach through streaming.
