Within the United States and Europe, Braskem's operations are centered on the manufacturing and sale of polypropylene, specifically across the U.S. and Germany. The Mexican segment is responsible for the production and distribution of ethylene, high-density polyethylene, and low-density polyethylene within Mexico. Beyond these segment-specific activities, the company is actively involved in the manufacturing, sale, import, and export of a broad spectrum of chemicals, petrochemicals, and fuels. It also generates, supplies, and sells vital utilities such as steam, water, compressed air, and various industrial gases, while offering other industrial services. Established in 1972, Braskem S.A. was originally known as Copene Petroquímica do Nordeste S.A. before adopting its current name in 2002. Its corporate headquarters are located in Camaçari, Brazil.
