View on StockTwits ↗$ZROZ I opened a new position in $ZROZ in pre-market trading. Bitesize only. If yields do start to fall, ZROZ should enjoy a disproportionate benefit.
View on StockTwits ↗$TLT $ZROZ Bond yields are elevated because of the expected inflationary impulse from the Gulf. Oil is in everything so, if oil up, everything up, and if everything up, then inflation, all other things being equal. Rising bond yields mean that borrowed money is (i) more expensive and (ii) usually in shorter supply (upside down, yes, but true), meaning that money being borrowed for levered equity positions is also more expensive and in shorter supply than was previously the case. So whether you run a levered fund or you’re just trying to juice the SPY in your PA, less money that costs more is … bad for equities. Anyway this toxic admixture is all bad news for the midterms. No Administration wants to go into midterms with oil and money becoming more expensive and equities less expensive. So sometime between now and then I would expect the situation to reverse. Until then, oil up, money up and stocks, potentially, down. Time to be careful IMO. NOT time to sell everything and head for the hills IMO. Just time to be careful.
