$DNP $UTF $UTG Very good info for dividend investors imo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bnBtEBHCA_c
View on StockTwits ↗@Firkin $GAB returns something like 80% ROC in their distrobutions. No thanks. I already own tons of $UTF and $UTG - love those. But I'm not adding at these levels as my effective yield on them is 8.5% and 8.3%, respectively.
View on StockTwits ↗@Firkin OK I'll bite...what do you like instead of PDT? I'm talking about CEFs yielding over 8% where my money is not being returned to me in the form of ROC. Six years ago every CEF pretty much shit the bed during the pandemic. PDT rebounded nicely but then was hit by rising interest rates like most. Still, it's been steady Eddie the last few years and has now increased its distribution. Clearly, funds like $UTG and $UTF have really done well and captured the utilities upside because they are almost entirely equity funds. But PDT holds like 45% in preferreds, and those have held it back due to interest rates. Still, the tax efficiencies are nice, and when rates finally get trimmed, we'll see a solid recovery in the NAV. At > 8% yield, I'm a buyer here.
View on StockTwits ↗$RQI Unlike $TYG, I will 100% be taking advantage of the rights offering. Cohen & Steers knows wtf they're doing. I bought into the $UTF offering and it paid off handsomely
View on StockTwits ↗$UTF Prince gets a dividend raise. This is to be expected of course. Thank you for your attention to this matter!
View on StockTwits ↗$UTF great news on dividend increase! The safest dividend is the one just raised
View on StockTwits ↗$UTF Sold all my UTF, huge profit with close to 2 years worth of divs so let's give it a break and see if we can get in lower later.
View on StockTwits ↗@apthatsme Several factors at play. On a technical level, it was severely overbought, so a natural retracement is in play. I suspect there was a good amount of profit taking at the end of the year as well. Secondly, two of their biggest holdings ($VST and $CEG) are both down 10% over the last month. And a drop in ST interest rates yet stubbornly high 20 & 30 year rates doesn't bode well for utility stocks. $DNP and $UTF have also been struggling, but certainly not to the extent of $UTG. Hang in there -- it's a best-of-breed CEF. Save some dry powder if it drops below $30 so you can load up and build your yield.
View on StockTwits ↗$UTF Added here again the other day at under 23.50, I am also going to add to $TYG should that drop under 42. Hold these babies and collect divs over your lifetime if you are a younger trader. I know, not as exciting as AI or anything, but long term you will get rich and retire happy.
