View on StockTwits ↗$COTY instead of getting nothing in one year for end of Gucci fragrance they just scored a $400M payday L’Oréal $LRLCY is dumb, may as well have made a bid to buy the company if having to shell out hundreds of millions to Cory for Gucci breaking a contract and move old merchandise. Solid win for Coty. Seem like more is in works.
View on StockTwits ↗Kering announced that Gucci and L'Oréal have signed an exclusive 50-year beauty licensing agreement, accelerating the transition by one year from the original timeline. The new license is expected to take effect in mid-2027, subject to regulatory approvals and the early termination of Gucci's existing beauty licensing agreement with Coty, which had originally been set to expire in June 2028. As part of the agreement, Coty will receive approximately $400 million in compensation for the early termination, with $250 million payable in 2026 and up to $150 million in 2027. Certain inventory will also be transferred during the transition. L'Oréal will reimburse Kering for transition costs equivalent to roughly 70% of the termination expenses and inventory value, helping facilitate an orderly handover. Kering said the agreement benefits all three companies by allowing Gucci and L'Oréal to begin developing the next phase of Gucci Beauty a year earlier than planned. $COTY $LRLCY

View on StockTwits ↗Barclays believes the recent selloff in European consumer staples has been driven more by valuation compression than earnings deterioration, creating attractive opportunities as earnings downgrades ease and consumer demand shows signs of stabilization. The broker favors companies with resilient earnings and discounted valuations. L’Oréal stands out for its strong profit profile, premium positioning, and long-term exposure to structural beauty market growth. Danone is viewed as one of the clearest re-rating opportunities after a sharp valuation reset despite only modest earnings cuts. Unilever remains attractive thanks to resilient earnings expectations and its diversified global portfolio. Barclays also highlights Carlsberg, whose share price decline appears disconnected from stable earnings estimates, and Pernod Ricard, where much of the negative outlook may already be priced in. $LRLCY $UL $DANOY

View on StockTwits ↗About 1 in 8 US adults is now on a GLP-1 weight-loss drug, w/ usage more than doubling since early 2024. As prices fall, the next wave of mass-market demand is imminent Recent FDA approval of Foundayo, Eli Lilly’s new once-daily oral weight-loss pill is priced aggressively at $149/month - t is roughly 85% cheaper than the initial list prices of injectable predecessors, moving GLP-1s from "luxury tier" to "mass market" A common side effect is fueling real demand for hair treatments, scalp serums & supplements GLP-1s all list hair loss as a possible side effect. Doctors say it is tied to fast weight loss in general - less protein, fewer nutrients, more stress on the body - & not the GLP-1 itself Circana ests GLP-1 households spend about +30% more on beauty products than non-GLP-1 households Hair treatment products take 3-6 months to show results. That makes the GLP-1 customer especially valuable to brands - this makes the GLP-1 user an "anchor customer" for brands, as they are statistically more likely to retest and reorder during their weight-loss journey Accenture's global beauty industry lead, called the size of the GLP-1 market "unprecedented" - money is flowing into pharma & personal care companies trying to build new solutions Further, many users reduce their intake of certain foods (processed foods are seeing some of the steepest drops in demand), which has caused shifts in consumer behavior & demand These households are shifting that budget toward high-protein dairy (+20%) and fresh produce (+55%) to combat muscle loss and nutrient gaps. JPMorgan ests 25M Americans will be on a GLP-1 by 2030 (up from 5M currently) - a 5x increase $LLY $NVO $ULTA $LRLCY $PBJ
