PickAlpha Morning Report - Company News: 2026.06.24 News - 1/8: SpaceX boosts senior unsecured bond sale to $25B (from $20B target) with ~$90B orders; five tranches priced 5.35%–6.65% and proceeds to repay March bridge loan. $LQD $JPM $GS $MS $BAC PickAlpha View: the upsized, heavily ordered SpaceX deal is a constructive read-through for high-grade credit demand, likely keeping LQD supported despite headline supply size. View on StockTwits ↗$LQD Investment-grade corporate bond ETF; lower risk relative to equities but sensitive to interest rate changes
View on StockTwits ↗PickAlpha Weekend: April’s credit rally is starting to look a little too comfortable. Bloomberg reports global investment-grade credit just had its best month since August and high yield its best since 2023, but some investors are already moving to re-engage hedges as spreads tighten back toward optimistic levels. Tickers: $LQD $HYG $JNK Our view is this is not a “sell credit now” signal — it is a “don’t get lazy” signal. The market has priced a lot of peace and a lot of earnings resilience, while Reuters still reports Hormuz remains badly disrupted and oil has already shown it can jump back toward four-year highs, which means the next credit move may be less about carry and more about whether inflation and rates start biting again. Read more on our Substack.
View on StockTwits ↗PickAlpha Weekend: Credit is leaning back into risk — but in a very specific way. Investors have been rotating out of higher-rated IG and into BBB paper, pushing the BBB/A spread gap to its tightest level since before the war, as the market bets a longer U.S.-Iran truce can hold and oil risk can keep fading. Tickers: $LQD $HYG $JNK Our view is this is a real “peace-risk-on” signal for credit, but not a blind chase. Money is moving into the lower edge of investment grade and the better-quality part of junk — which says investors want carry and spread compression, but are still not ready to fully embrace the ugliest part of the risk stack.
View on StockTwits ↗$HYG $SPY The Warning in the Credit Spread: HYG vs. LQD Divergence While most retail traders are glued to the intraday gyrations of the $SPY and $QQQ, the "smart money" in the credit markets is flashing a warning sign that shouldn't be ignored. This morning, we are seeing a sharp divergence between the two most critical barometers of corporate health: $HYG and $LQD. In the pre-market, $HYG (High Yield/Junk Bonds) printed a massive red candle, signaling an aggressive exit from high-risk corporate debt. Conversely, $LQD (Investment Grade) is holding green. This is not a story about interest rates—if it were, both would likely move in the same direction. This is a story about Credit Risk. What the Last 30 Days Are Telling Us Looking at the 30-day trend, the "risk-off" rotation is accelerating: Flight to Quality: $LQD has outperformed on a relative basis over the last month as institutions move into blue-chip debt to lock in yield while seeking safety.
