View on StockTwits ↗By extending a certain number of compliance credits to OEMs when they make significant investments into Canada’s EV supply chain (mining, batteries, components, etc.), there is an opportunity for the federal government to marry its EV sales mandate policy with a broader industry-building measure that would benefit consumers through more EV availability, automakers through additional compliance pathways, and broader supply chain firms through potentially larger pools of investment. Importantly, this is something that Canadians would likely support: our survey with Environics Research shows that between 70%-80% understand the importance to our domestic economy of critical mineral mining, battery production and advanced manufacturing. $LMRMF
