$WEN $JACK $GME If Wendy's gets bought out the next play might just be $MPT Medical Properties Trust where tens of millions of short share obligations are likely trapped. The shorts were hoping the recovering REIT would cut its dividend but instead it just announced its regular distribution, causing the share price to recover a little from a recent dip. With hospital construction costs going up, presumably the value of its real estate will also go up. If you enjoy soap opera-like drama the history of $MPT involves some colorful characters like a now bankrupt hospital CEO who owns a $40 million yacht that the state of Massachusetts would love to tar and feather and folks with nicknames like Piglet, Donkey, and Big Ed. There's also lots of back-and-forth banter between longs and shorts on the Yahoo chat.
