View on StockTwits ↗My latest post on the U.S. housing market: "What Happened in the Housing Market – Peak ROAD" * The ROAD housing market outlook remained largely unchanged as homebuilder stocks, construction activity, and housing data continued to reflect a prolonged period of stasis. * The passage of the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act coincided with another peak in housing stocks, but the broader three-year trading range remained intact. * Homebuilder sentiment weakened in July as elevated mortgage rates, affordability pressures, labor shortages, and construction costs continued weighing on confidence. * Single-family housing starts remained essentially flat while permits stayed near three-year lows, suggesting limited near-term expansion in new construction. * New home sales improved modestly in June, but year-over-year sales remained weaker and affordability continued to constrain demand. View on StockTwits ↗The second weakest first half of the year change on record for New Home Sales in the US highlights the strains that the housing market is enduring. Activity is down by 3.6% (NSA) year-to-date, abnormally diverging from the 26.6% rise that is average through the first six months of the year. Weak demand is weighing on prices. $STUDY $MACRO $ITB #Economy #Housing

View on StockTwits ↗US Housing Starts snapped back last month, but a below average pace through the first half of the year remains and the weak performance of permits suggests that we should not expect much improvement into the back half of the year. Starts were up by 35.0% six months into 2026, lagging the 39.1% increase that is average for this timeframe. $STUDY $MACRO $ITB #Economy #Housing
