Established in 1964 and headquartered in Thane, India, EMCO Limited has historically been a global supplier of essential products and integrated solutions for the power sector. The company manufactured a wide array of transformers, including distribution, power, furnace, rectifier, traction, and locomotive types, catering to diverse clients such as power utilities, steel mills, cement plants, petrochemical and fertilizer complexes, and independent power producers. Beyond transformers, EMCO also developed and provided static energy meters and advanced metering solutions, equipped with various communication capabilities, suitable for residential, commercial, industrial, and specialized applications. Its project capabilities encompassed comprehensive turnkey Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) services, from initial conceptualization to final commissioning. These projects included substations (like GIS), industrial switchyards, and power distribution systems, alongside the upgrade and modernization of existing distribution networks and power evacuation systems for generation facilities. EMCO also executed turnkey EPC projects for Extra High Voltage (EHV) transmission line packages. Furthermore, the company offered extensive transformer lifecycle support, including repair, overhauling, erection, testing, commissioning, maintenance contracts, diagnostic services, failure analysis reports, and spare parts supply. EMCO also diversified into the solar power generation business. The company's broad customer base included power utilities, oil and gas companies, mining firms, and other EPC contractors.
