BlackRock Taxable Municipal Bond Trust is a diversified, closed-end management investment company. Its investment objective is to seek high current income, with a secondary objective of capital appreciation. The Trust seeks to achieve its investment objectives by investing in a portfolio of taxable municipal securities, including Build America Bonds (BABs), issued by state and local governments to finance capital projects such as public schools, roads, transportation infrastructure, bridges, ports and public buildings.

This trust primarily allocates its capital within the United States' fixed income markets. Its core holdings are taxable municipal securities, notably including Build America Bonds. Beyond this, the fund diversifies its portfolio with investments in tax-exempt securities, U.S. Treasury obligations, debt from U.S. government agencies and instrumentalities, and corporate debt instruments. Previously, it operated under the name BlackRock Build America Bond Trust. Established on August 27, 2010, the trust is domiciled within the United States.
