Bank of America is a formidable financial titan with a $3.5 trillion balance sheet and a cornerstone of the American economy, holding the second-largest deposit market share in the United States. While the firm has maintained its stronghold among middle-market and retail clientele domestically, Bank of America has continued to hold its own on the global stage, as evidenced by its fourth-largest global trading operation and an investment banking division that regularly finishes in the top four in global league tables. The firm is organized across four segments: consumer banking, global wealth and investment management, global banking, and global markets.

Bank of America warned that Japanese equities face three key headwinds in August: rising oil prices, a more hawkish Federal Reserve, and the potential unwinding of crowded positions in AI stocks and the yen. The bank said higher crude prices could fuel inflation, strengthen the case for additional Fed rate hikes, pressure richly valued technology shares, weaken the yen, and push USD/JPY toward 165, increasing the risk of Japanese currency intervention. BofA expects low seasonal liquidity to keep markets volatile through mid-August, especially if AI-related positioning and short yen trades unwind. However, the bank believes conditions could stabilize if upcoming U.S. inflation and labor data are benign, allowing Japanese stocks to recover later in the year. Strategists recommend maintaining exposure to AI while avoiding overvalued names, favoring companies tied to data center investment—including optical communications, networking infrastructure, semiconductor materials. $BAC
View on StockTwits ↗The FDIC and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) proposed changes to U.S. fair-lending rules under the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), aiming to modernize regulations while reducing compliance burdens for smaller banks. The proposal would require banks to demonstrate that most community-development grant funding directly benefits eligible communities and that recipient organizations do not have excessive administrative costs. It would also raise the asset threshold for certain CRA reporting and data-collection exemptions to $10 billion from the current $1.65 billion, easing requirements for many regional and community banks. The agencies said the changes are intended to improve the effectiveness of community investments while reducing unnecessary regulatory burdens. However, Senator Elizabeth Warren and other Senate Democrats criticized the proposal. $C $BAC

View on StockTwits ↗$BAC Some years ago, I once had this around $20 and sold when it went up a few cents. I was an idiotic trader trying to make money from scalping at the time. I remember some people commenting why in the world would I sell. And I thought those questions were ridiculous because, obviously, the stock would go down after I sold and I want to end the day with profits. I would have tripled my money if I simply did nothing after buying. Aw man, to be young and dumb.
