SK Hynix is a semiconductor memory manufacturer with around 60%-70% of its revenue from DRAM and 30%-35% of its revenue from NAND. The company is both the second-largest DRAM and NAND supplier globally, with a 33% and 21% market share, respectively, as of 2024. SK Hynix increased its market position in NAND from fourth to second, after acquiring Intel's NAND business in 2021. SK Square, an investment management company spun off from SK Telecom, is SK Hynix's largest shareholder and currently holds 20% of the company's shares.

Citi analysts identified leading memory-chip manufacturers positioned to benefit from a structural shift in AI development, forecasting that continuous AI learning will drive strong memory demand and create a market shortage that could persist through 2031. SK Hynix is positioned to benefit from structural growth in HBM and DDR5 server-memory demand and has begun construction of a $4 billion advanced memory-packaging facility in Indiana, although Bernstein noted weaker-than-expected Korean semiconductor export data for July. Micron is expected to capitalize on tightening DRAM supply through 2028, supported by strong AI-driven memory demand. S&P Global Ratings recently upgraded Micron to BBB+ with a positive outlook, while the company announced plans to invest $10 billion in a new research facility in Idaho. View on StockTwits ↗$SNDK $MU $SKHY $QQQ I think the value fund selling is over. The knockon effect from the Citadel selling is over. The Korean market has stabilized and options have reset. I think for memory stocks they will get the most relief when Micron reports on the 30th. Its one more ER with shared benefit to other memory. Its also the end of the quarter. And those that allocated away from memory and semis at the end of June are likely to rotate back in with peg, trailing, and future p/e at obscenely low values. Steady buybacks by SanDisk and SK will help buoy prices until then. Micron's trailing EPS is $73. After the next ER it is expected to jump to a minimum of $103 and some are estimating $110 or more due to a beat a very large raise.Micron is doing all it can to get more memory out the door faster, coupled with price increases could mean a big raise for next quarter and next year. So algo's will see trailing eps jump 41% to maybe 50%. Fund managers are likely to react to the guidance.
