$MGY shocking tbh. Never thought this team would sell shareholders out as exit liquidity for PE, but will be easy $$$ on the short side.
View on StockTwits ↗Magnolia Oil & Gas Corp. is the leading bidder to acquire WildFire Energy in a transaction valued at more than $4 billion, according to Bloomberg News, citing people familiar with the matter. If completed, the deal would be the Houston-based shale producer's largest acquisition ever, strengthening its position in the U.S. shale industry and expanding its production portfolio. WildFire Energy, backed by private equity firms Warburg Pincus and Kayne Anderson, has attracted interest through a competitive sale process. The companies could announce an agreement within weeks, although negotiations remain ongoing and the timing or terms could still change. The potential acquisition underscores continued consolidation across the U.S. energy sector as producers seek to expand scale and improve operational efficiencies. $MGY
View on StockTwits ↗$XOM $XOP $ET $EOG $MGY I think I’ve finally finalized what my future energy portfolio will look like as we move into H2 2026. I currently hold APA DVN EGY ET MGY NOG PBR-A PROP- high beta - speculation REI RNGR XOP I also wanted to add XOM, EOG, VG and OKE. After studying forward PE’s, balance sheets, DTI levels and other metrics, it looks like I’m going to eliminate some tickers and only add 2 more. So the last page will be my 9 picks in the energy sector in the coming weeks. Basically eliminating the speculation and the debt ridden tickers. So eliminate PBR-A, PROP, REI and RNGR. I will watch for exit points. Only add XOM and EOG.(scale in on weakness) The XOP position actually gives me some higher beta exposure. I will have more than enough profits coming from miners to cover the increase for my energy sector as long as the Q2 earnings come out as I suspect they will. Other profits from miners will move into SGOV, TLT and my food producers.

View on StockTwits ↗$MGY $VG $NOG $EOG Several weeks ago I mentioned that I would name my new oil/gas picks. While I currently own XOP (Basket Approach), RNGR, REI, PROP (My High Risk Play), PBR-A, ET, DVN and APA- my plan is to add additional positions on any continued weakness. I will reduce XOP. RNGR - hold REI - hold PROP - would sell out on a short squeeze PBR-A - hold ET is my core - not selling or buying. DVN - will add more APA - hold What I want to add is MGY, VG, NOG, EOG Possibly add $EQNR At some point, I will scale energy from 15% weight to 25% weight.
