$RKLB agreeds to buy satellite operator $IRDM in a cash-and-stock deal that values the target at roughly $8B The acquisition gives Iridium stockholders an estimated $54/share, split b/n $27 in cash & a variable number of Rocket Lab shares set by an exchange ratio, subject to a collar. That ratio carries a collar banded b/n $67.50-$112.50, a structure meant to protect both sides from swings in Rocket Lab’s stock price before the deal closes Rocket Lab has secured commitments for a $3.6B bridge loan from $DB & $WFC and plans to fund the cash portion thru a mix of balance sheet cash and additional debt & equity For Rocket Lab, the goal behind the transaction is vertical integration. The company already builds rockets and spacecraft, & Iridium supplies the missing piece, an operating satellite network w/ paying customers. Iridium runs a low Earth orbit network of 66 satellites w/ 14 on-orbit spares serving more than 2.55M active subs across aviation, maritime, govt, defense & commercial markets Iridium posted $871.7M in revs in FY25 & op EBITDA of $495M, a margin of 57%, giving Rocket Lab a recurring cash flow stream it has never had before Both boards have unanimously approved the transaction & Iridium directors have signed a voting agreement in support of the deal. The companies expect to close in mid-2027, pending approval from Iridium stockholders & regulators Breakup Fee: $223.62M

View on StockTwits ↗President Kevin Warsh's hawkish stance as the new Federal Reserve chair is prompting investors to rethink the popular "debasement trade" that favored gold and bitcoin as hedges against a weakening U.S. dollar. Markets now fully price in two Fed rate hikes by the end of the first quarter of 2027, versus just one before last week's policy meeting, as traders increasingly believe the Fed will prioritize fighting inflation. Warsh's emphasis on price stability has strengthened confidence in the Fed's independence and boosted the dollar, while weighing on gold and cryptocurrencies. JPMorgan raised its dollar forecast against the euro and recommended long U.S. dollar positions versus lower-yielding currencies, arguing that a tightening Fed makes the debasement trade less attractive. Higher real Treasury yields have also pressured non-yielding assets. Deutsche Bank cut its gold price forecast by as much as 22%, following a similar reduction by Goldman Sachs. $JPM $GS $DB $IWM $SPX
View on StockTwits ↗Deutsche Bank cut its gold price forecasts by up to 22%, joining Goldman Sachs in a more cautious outlook as markets adjust to expectations of a tighter-for-longer Federal Reserve policy and weaker investment demand for precious metals. The bank now sees gold at $4,300/oz in Q3 and $4,800/oz in Q4, both below prior estimates but still above current levels near $4,100/oz. The downgrade reflects concerns that U.S. interest rates could stay elevated for longer, reducing the appeal of non-yielding assets like gold. Deutsche Bank warned that if the Fed delivers three to four additional hikes, gold could fall toward $3,800/oz. The view follows Goldman’s recent $500 cut to its year-end target, now at $4,900/oz, citing reduced expectations for rate cuts in 2026. Gold is down nearly 12% this quarter amid stronger U.S. data, persistent inflation pressures, and shifting Fed rhetoric. $DB $GS
